YEREVAN. – The situation will become clear for investors after the snap parliamentary election in Armenia.

Mane Adamyan, the Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investments, on Tuesday told about the aforementioned to reporters. She noted this within the framework of the first meeting of the Armenia-European Union (EU) Cooperation Committee on Trade, in capital city Yerevan.

Adamyan assured that the recent political events in Armenia have increased investors’ interest towards the country. At the same time, as per the deputy minister, investors are now more interested in tourism as well as in the processing industry and the IT sector. 

“Nonetheless, stability is important to investors,” she said. “They need to see a real picture of the country’s objectives as to which priority domains it has noted for itself; and in this sense, the upcoming [snap] parliamentary elections [in Armenia] play a pivotal role.”

In this context, Mane Adamyan said Armenia needs to implement several reforms, and she added that a respective roadmap has been developed.

As for the Armenian entrepreneurs challenges in the EU market, the deputy minister said what is important in this respect is the quality of infrastructures.
