Iran is ready to cooperate with Armenia in the exchange of energy.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Tuesday stated the above-said at his talk with Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, within the framework of the 73rd Session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

In his words, the broad opportunities of both countries stress the need for making their cooperation reach the political level.

“Iran highly assesses the link to the Black Sea via the territories of Armenia and Georgia,” Rouhani said. “In this context, the North-South Corridor [in Armenia] is important, and Tehran stands ready—from the viewpoint of technical and engineering services—to finish this corridor and the highway.”

Also, the Iranian president urged to strengthen cooperation between the private sectors of the two countries.

“We are ready to encourage the private sector in participating in business in Armenia, and contributing to investments in Armenia’s companies.”
