DUSHANBE. – In 2019, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan will co-chair the Council of Heads of States of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CHS CIS).

The aforesaid was stated at the extended session of Friday’s regular meeting of the CHS CIS, in Dushanbe, the Armenian News-NEWS.am reporter informed from the capital city of Tajikistan.

Also, it was announced that the next summit of the CIS leaders will be convened October 11, 2019 in Ashgabat, the capital city of Turkmenistan.

During the narrow session, the discussants exchanged views on partnership within the CIS.

The next chairmanship of the Commonwealth, and the date and venue of the next CHS CIS regular meeting were decided on at the extended session.

Important matters of political cooperation, further development of cooperation, and several programs also are expected to be discussed during the extended session.

Armenia’s delegation, led by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, is also attending the regular meeting of the CHS CIS.
