Leaders of the CIS member countries have stressed the importance of increasing national efforts to ensure human rights and fundamental freedoms.

The aforesaid is noted in the statement, which was issued on the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and which was adopted in the extended session of Friday’s regular meeting of the Council of Heads of States of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CHS CIS), in the Tajik capital city of Dushanbe.

Also, the statement points to the need to invigorate international cooperation in the protection of human rights.

Armenia’s delegation, led by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, is also attending the regular meeting of the CHS CIS.
