Requiem services for the late Charles Aznavour were offered Saturday at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and the diocesan seat churches of the dioceses of the Armenian Church in Armenia.

And at noon, and in commemoration of this National Hero of Armenia and great son of the Armenian nation, bells were sounded at all churches in capital city Yerevan, as well as at the St. John the Evangelist and the St. Thaddeus Churches in Artashat and Masis towns, respectively.

Aznavour’s funeral will take place on the same day in Paris.

In tribute to this legendary French Armenian singer, Saturday is declared Day of Mourning in both Armenia and the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic/NKR).

Charles Aznavour passed away Monday aged 94, in his house in southern France, and of natural causes.
