The 17th Summit of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) is getting underway Thursday in Yerevan.

The summit will last two days, and delegations from more than 80 countries have arrived in Armenia’s capital city to attend this event.

French President Emmanuel Macron and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau are among the world leaders to participate in this summit.

Several documents will be adopted within the framework of this high-level meeting. The most important from among them is the Yerevan Declaration: Living Together; and six resolutions, one of which is about conflict resolution.

The summit participants will consider the petitions by the United Arab Emirates, Kosovo, and Serbia to be granted OIF associate membership status. In addition, the discussants will confer on the petitions by Gambia, Ireland, Malta, and the US state of Louisiana to be granted observer status in this organization.
