YEREVAN. – Armenia’s President Armen Sarkissian and his wife Nune Sarkissian, as well as French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte Macron on Thursday toured the Aznavour Center, in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan.

Nicolas Aznavour, the son of the late legendary French Armenian artist Charles Aznavour, also was at the center.

Yerevan Mayor-Elect Hayk Marutyan, Education and Science Minister Arayik Harutyunyan, and well-known businessman Ruben Vardanyan had come to Aznavour Center too.

The Armenian and French Presidents are expected to sign—on location—a memorandum to open the Aznavour Center.

In a recent interview, Nicolas Aznavour had informed that it was his father’s idea to establish the Aznavour Center.

As reported earlier, a part of this center is dedicated to the art of Charles Aznavour; but not as a traditional museum, and rather more as an interactive environment.

Also, the Aznavour Center is a venue for educational and cultural exchanges and discussions as well as for study.
