Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman, whose family is worth around £850bn, intends to buy Manchester United FC or become its co-owner, The Sun reported. 

Even if the Glazer family were willing to consider selling, it would cost the Saudis more than £3billion, the source added.

“But they have the money and, it is said, the desire to make a big splash in football,” the source added.

Saudi Arabian Prince has already made investments in sport with F1 and WWE.

Glazers have owned the club since 2005. Avram Glazer spends a lot of time in Saudi Arabia. At the end of October, he is scheduled to attend an investment conference in Riyadh, which will be attended by leading investors and bankers of the world, as well as by the leadership of Saudi Arabia.
