YEREVAN. – Armenian honey is competitive in the European Union (EU) market.

Vahe Danielyan, Head of the Food Safety and Quality Control Inspectorate of Armenia, told the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

In his words, the monitoring of domestic honey attests to its good quality and meeting the European standards.

“Armenian honey is in demand in various countries of the world,” Danielyan said. “As of today, we work towards exporting local honey to the Chinese market too.”

Roza Tsarukyan, the general director of an Armenian scientific-production center, in turn, informed that in recent years, beekeeping develops in Armenia at high pace. Moreover, as per Tsarukyan, the number of young beekeepers is gradually growing in the country.

Tsarukyan added that Armenian honey has a great demand abroad. Furthermore, in her words, Armenia has all the capacity to increase its export volumes.
