Saudi Arabia has promised no one will be exempt from the inquiry into the disappearance of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, said the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

His remark came after he arrived in Ankara on Wednesday for talks with the Turkish leadership over the disappearance of the journalist in Istanbul, AFP reported. "They made no exceptions to who they would hold accountable,” said Pompeo.

Earlier on Tuesday, Trump tweeted he had a conversation with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, who said they are working closely with Turkey to find answer.

Earlier, Turkish police reported that Khashoggi Jamal Khashoggi, a columnist for The Washington Post, was killed in the consulate of Saudi Arabia in Turkey. Saudi authorities deny involvement in the crime.

The Washington Post wrote that Turkey had notified the US of evidence of the journalist's death.
