YEREVAN. – The current government’s actions will gradually lead to the weakening of our positions in the process of resolving the Artsakh [(Nagorno-Karabakh)] issue, and the increasing of risks in terms of security.

Former Deputy Minister of Defense Artak Zakaryan, who is an MP candidate on the electoral list of the former ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) in Sunday’s snap parliamentary election, stated about the abovementioned at a press conference on Wednesday.

“[As a result of the current government’s actions,] we [Armenia] will have an incomprehensible agenda in foreign relations,” Zakaryan added, in particular.

As per the ex-official, even though the incumbent Armenian authorities have stated that they continue the RPA’s course in foreign policy, this is just a statement.

“In reality, the current authorities are making the foreign relations’ ‘road’ more ‘rocky’ and difficult,” Artak Zakaryan said. “Every week we see a scandalous, or a semi-scandalous situation in foreign relations, [and] which doesn’t give us [Armenia] anything.”
