YEREVAN. – Political analyst Davit Shahnazaryan, who is third on the electoral list of the ex-ruling Republican Party of Armenia in Sunday’s snap parliamentary election in the country, has been summoned to the National Security Service (NSS).

In the respective statement which the NSS has disseminated, it is noted, in particular, that Shahnazaryan had in fact accused the incumbent authorities and Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of treason against the state.

As per the NSS, under the Criminal Procedure Code of Armenia, the respective statement by Shahnazaryan has been viewed as a report on committing a severe crime, and which the NSS is considering, and it is being ascertained as to whether there are sufficient grounds for filing a criminal case in this regard.

Davit Shahnazaryan on Wednesday was summoned to the NSS in connection with this report, and to provide respective explanations and to submit documents and other materials that corroborate this report.
