YEREVAN. – The US sanctions against Iran will not affect the Armenia-Iran natural gas-electricity arrangement.

Acting Minister of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources, Garegin Baghramyan, on Thursday told the aforementioned to reporters, at the Government of Armenia.

“We have met with employees of the [US] Department of State,” Baghramyan said. “We have presented the matter that the Republic of Armenia has about a $1bn investment in that project. It’s electric [power] transmission lines, construction of a thermal [power] station, and ensuring the return on investments within the framework of the [natural] gas-electricity [business] deal. They [the US], too, acknowledge it. [So] the deal will continue as it is.”
