At least two years are required to implement the new transport network in Yerevan, mayor Hayk Marutyan told reporters on Friday.

“Whether we like it or not, this is exactly what we’ve inherited,” said Marutyan referring both to the bad transport system and destroyed network.

Yerevan city hall administration has turned to the British company with questions, and is waiting for answers in February, the mayor said adding that it will be necessary to involve another company in order to turn the theoretical part into a practical one.

According to him, the British company takes into account the passenger traffic from 2014, as it is necessary to understand whether this number coincides with the current number or not.

“They say a more eleborative study is needed,” Marutyan noted.

A total of 850 thousand euros have been allocated to the British company for the study at the time.
