YEREVAN. – At its Cabinet meeting on Thursday, the Government of Armenia authorized the 2018 to 2022 master plan for Zvartnots and Shirak international airports of capital city Yerevan and of Gyumri, respectively.

The Acting Minister of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies, Hakob Arshakyan, presented the matter at the Cabinet session.

In line with this master plan, around $38.2mn investments are planned to be made.

As a result, it is expected—in particular—to ensure the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) safety standards at these airports, to have their capacity correspond to the expected increase in passenger flow, to reach the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Level of Service “C,” and to make the security level at these airports meet the new international standards.
