YEREVAN. – At its first Cabinet session of the year, the Government of Armenia approved the 2019-2026 action plan for the safe management of radioactive waste and used nuclear fuel in the country, as well as the action plan-timetable that was developed for the implementation of this program.

The objective of the abovementioned legal act is to ensure the fulfillment of Armenia’s obligations under international treaties with respect to safe use of atomic energy, and to meet the respective requirements specified by the safety standards of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and by the Armenian laws and legal acts.
