YEREVAN.- Armenia can not apply to Russia for demanding extradition of Armenian national suspected in a murder of a 23-year-old man in Kazakhstan’s Karaganda, Narek Gururyan, since there is no criminal proceeding in Armenia concerning him, head of Public Relations Department of the General Prosecutor's Office Arevik Khachatryan told Armenian News - NEWS.am.

He noted that there are no legal grounds for filing a petition on extradition of Gururyan to Armenia.

Earlier it was reported that Narek Gururyan surrendered himself to police in Omsk, Russia, and was detained. He traveled to his relatives in Omsk. The Russian law enforcement agencies are deciding on his possible extradition to Kazakhstan.
