YEREVAN. – Attempts to find connection between former president Robert Kocharyan and Prosperous Armenia party are speculations, leader of the party Gagik Tsarukyan said.

“A trial is underway. Any person, any citizen is equal before the law, no one will have any privileges,” said Tsarukyan.

When asked whether he considers Kocharyan to be a political prisoner, Tsarukyan said: “Have the investigators, the judges, called him a political prisoner? Let's wait for the completion of the trial, see who he is, whether he is a political prisoner, guilty or not guilty. Be patient”.

Asked whether Tsarukyan owes a part of his business to Kocharyan, the leader of the Prosperous Armenia faction said that he owes business only to his state, people, nation, and he no longer owes anything to anyone.
