The Russian gas is supplied to Armenia at a reduced rate as compared to world prices, Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin told RIA Novosti reported.

“It should also be borne in mind that the Russian exporter did not apply for the recalculation of the gas prices depending on the calorific value (the natural gas supplied by us has a high heat capacity). This de facto represents an additional commercial discount reflecting the allied nature of relations between our countries. Gas supplies from Russia (about 2 billion cubic meters annually) fully meet the needs of the republic,” he said.

Karasin added that the allied relations between the countries are not limited to the questions of pricing for the supply of Russian gas.
