Vice-Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia, Head of the General Investigative Department Artak Krkyasharyan met with the parents of the soldiers deceased in peaceful conditions, the materials of the criminal cases instituted in relation to the deaths of which will be examined by the non-governmental organizations engaged in the public monitoring task force.

The Investigative Committee told NEWS.am that the Vice-Chairman of the Investigative Committee presented the goal and rules of procedure of the task force to the parents of the deceased servicemen. Artak Krkyasharyan also answered all questions from the parents.

The Investigative Committee has already provided statements of information on specific criminal cases to non-governmental organizations for them to examine them. After examining the materials of the cases, the task force will start examining the materials of the criminal cases instituted in relation to the deaths of other servicemen.

The non-governmental organizations select the cases to examine, and the Investigative Committee provides them with all the required materials.

The Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia and the ten non-governmental organizations have signed an agreement on detecting the possible flaws during the preliminary investigation of certain criminal cases instituted in relation to the deaths during military service and dispelling public interest in the disputed circumstances, as well as on creating a public monitoring task force to rule out various interpretations of those circumstances.
