In one of the Murmansk schools (Russia) seventeen third graders were suspected of A/H1N1 virus (swine flu), and one of them tested positive. In this regard RF Chief Sanitary Inspector Gennady Onishenko ordered to place the school under quarantine till the final clarification of the details.

According to him, the schoolchildren, their parents and teaching staff are under the medics’ care. “The virus spread due to school management and medical staff irresponsible attitude towards our instructions, as well as connivance and lack of supervision by the regional health authorities,” he noted.

It became known, that 484 schools failed to conduct physical examination of the children before the school year.

Under official statistics, to date 381 swine flu cases were registered in Russia.
