A fatal hit-and-run occurred Saturday evening in Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia.

According to shamshyan.com, at around 10pm, an unidentified vehicle with unknown license plates hit a pedestrian on a street, and fled the scene.

The pedestrian died on the spot.

Subsequently, a person called the police, and informed that he was the one driving the said automobile, which now was in a garage.

The officers of the law found this car, which is an SUV.

The driver of this vehicle is Aleksandr F., 57. It was found out that he was under the influence of alcohol to the highest degree.

He told the police, however, that he had drunk alcohol after this hit-and-run, since he was scared and had taken this incident very hard.

Aleksandr F. has been detained.

The SUV was impounded.
