Armenian human rights activists, including those who support Armenia’s pro-Western course, held on 19 March a protest in front of the Iranian embassy in Yerevan to support Iranian human rights activist Nasrin Sotoudeh, reports NEWS.am.

There were nearly 20 participants, including students. They had brought posters demanding the release of the human rights lawyer and an end to “persecutions against women for refusing to wear a hijab”. The activists also tried to transmit a note of protest to the embassy’s representatives in relation to Sotoudeh’s verdict, but nobody came out of the embassy. As a result, the activists were compelled to attach the posters on the street near the embassy with Scotch tape since the guards hadn't let them post the poster on the building of the embassy.
