Nursultan Nazarbayev’s resignation is a reasonable politician’s decision. This is what Russian politician Alexander Khramchikhin said in an interview with NEWS.am.

According to him, this decision is due to the fact that the President of Kazakhstan doesn’t want to share the same destiny that the leaders of Kazakhstan’s neighboring countries had, particularly Uzbekistan and doesn’t want to hinder the normal interior political processes in the country. “There won’t be any serious change from the perspective of interior political processes. The same also goes for the country’s foreign policy, including in terms of Eurasian integration,” he stated.

The analyst stressed that Nursultan Nazarbayev de facto maintains power since he continues to hold a major office.
