The Ministry of Agriculture won’t be adjoined to the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments. The two ministries will be merged. This is what Acting Minister of Agriculture Gegham Gevorgyan told journalists at the National Assembly on 20 March.

“There will be a new ministry, that is, the Ministry of Economy,” Gevorgyan said.

He didn’t share the view that the merging of the ministries can lead to the deterioration of this or that sector. “Some experts say this is the right thing to do because if the ministries weren’t merged, the government wouldn’t introduce such a bill. I can’t predict what’s going to happen in the future. I support more practical steps, and the results need to be evaluated based on facts.”
