Ivanka Trump, US President Donald Trump's daughter and White House senior adviser, as well as Jared Kushner, president’s son-in-law and senior adviser, used private messaging services for official government business,  the Chairman of the Committee on Oversight and Reform, Elijah E. Cummings stated, The New York Times reported.

According to him, they may have violated federal laws. Meanwhile, Ivanka Trump's lawyer Abbe Lowell noted last year that in addition to a private email account, Mr. Kushner uses WhatsApp. According to him, the law has not been violated, as Kushner took screenshots of the communications and sent them to his official White House account or the National Security Council.

The newspaper reminded that previously there was information that Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump used their personal emails as a working mail. Meanwhile, Trump made Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server while she was secretary of state a central line of attack in his 2016 campaign for president.
