YEREVAN. – Minister of Defense of Armenia Davit Tonoyan, who is also Chairman of the Commission on Captives, Hostages and Missing Persons, on Friday received Armen Ghazaryan, the father of Armenian citizen Karen Ghazaryan, who had ended up under the jurisdiction of Azerbaijan in June 2018 and was recently sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Tonoyan informed Armen Ghazaryan that Armenia was intensively working toward having his son returned to the country—and in collaboration with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Delegation to Armenia, co-chairs of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Minsk Group, and international human rights organizations.
