YEREVAN. – I don’t have big expectations from the Pashinyan-Aliyev meeting.

Chairman of the Bright Armenia Party and head of the Bright Armenia faction in parliament, Edmon Marukyan, on Tuesday told the aforementioned to reporters at the National Assembly. He noted this reflecting on the forthcoming formal meeting between Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, and which is slated for Friday in Vienna.

“We [Armenia] will speak now as well about returning Artsakh [Nagorno-Karabakh] to the negotiating table,” Marukyan said. “[But] I don’t have great expectations from that meeting.

“We all realize here, and everyone realizes in the world that there is no surrenderer of land in Armenia, and there is no recognizer of Artsakh in Azerbaijan.

“So, those meetings, negotiations are needed; they are better than shooting at one another, and they should continue.”
