On 5 April, the subsequent session of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS CMFA) was held in Moscow, and the Armenian delegation was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Shavarsh Kocharyan, as reported the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, according to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Current issues related to the partnership of the ministries of foreign affairs of CIS countries, particularly the strengthening of cooperation in the fight against the growing threats and challenges facing security and stability were discussed during the meeting.

The participants of the session approved the draft Declaration of the leaders of CIS countries on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the launch of WWII which affirms the loyalty of CIS countries to the norms and principles of international law, highlights the universal and intergovernmental nature of the United Nations Organization established in 1945 (end of WWII), the unique responsibility of the United Nations for maintenance of peace and the prevention of new global conflicts. The draft agreement on coordination of interstate relations of CIS countries in the field of Fundamental Research and several other documents were approved.

The Council of Ministers also considered the document on the creation of a baseline organization for preparation of personnel in the fight against crimes committed through the use of information technologies.

The next session of the Council will be held on 10 October in Ashgabat.
