On 9 April, Minister of Territorial Administration and Development of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan held a working consultation with governors of the Republic of Armenia and discussed several issues related to provinces and communities, as reported the press service of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Development of the Republic of Armenia.

Suren Papikyan began the consultation by presenting the initial results of the collection of own incomes by the communities of the Republic of Armenia in the first quarter of 2019. The minister informed that the collection of own incomes of communities exceeded the own incomes of the same period of the previous year by 0.8% or approximately in the amount of AMD 1 billion.

In regard to proper completion of the assignments that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had given to eliminate the shortcomings in the payment of benefits, Minister Suren Papikyan stated that it is the governors’ duty to clarify the real reasons behind the gaps.

Talking about the future actions for unification of communities, Minister Papikyan stated that the unification of geographically and economically compatible communities provides them with the opportunity to be independent and enhance infrastructures.

Papikyan urged the governors to focus on the quality of asphalting of roads through subvention programs and programs requiring major solutions in the communities. The minister said the poor quality of recently renovated roads is inadmissible and said that unfaithful road construction companies must be brought to justice in order to rule out such a working style.
