The United States will consider the issue of removing from the list of sponsors of terrorism, if there are significant changes in its government, Reuters reported.

“A different statutory path to a state sponsor of terrorism (SST) rescission may be available if there is a fundamental change in the leadership and policies of the government of Sudan,” the U.S. official, who asked not to be named.

The Trump administration suspended negotiations to normalize relations with Sudan after  the military overthrew President Omar al-Bashir last week.
