The possibility of revising the 12-year compulsory education system is not on the agenda of the Ministry of Education and Science. This is what Armenia’s Minister of Education and Science Arayik Harutyunyan said as he responded to a question from deputy of the My Step faction Lilit Stepanyan during a question-and-answer session with government officials at the National Assembly on 17 April.

According to him, there is no issue on changing the model of education on the current agenda.

“There have actually been recommendations to change the model, but the ministry hasn’t treated them seriously. Currently, the ministry is working hard to enhance the role of high schools,” Harutyunyan clarified.
