It has already been four years since the Tavush Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church has been celebrating Haghartsin Spiritual-Cultural Week with the support of young volunteers and benefactors at Haghartsin Monastery.

The event is usually held during the week preceding or succeeding the Grape Blessing Day in Armenia.

This year, Haghartsin Week kicked off with a solemn opening ceremony that featured performances by the State Jazz Orchestra of Armenia and was attended by Governor of Tavush Province Hayk Chobanyan and leader of the Tavush Diocese, Bishop Bagrat Galstanyan.

A painting exhibition called “Tavush Through the Eyes of the World”, morning liturgy, spiritual talks, master classes devoted to khachkar (cross-stone) sculpting, woodcarving, pottery, rug making, carpet weaving and silk painting — all this is part of the weeklong events.

Haghartsin Week will end with the solemn Grape Blessing ceremony on August 18.
