The press service of the Security Service of Ukraine reported Tuesday that Ukraine has declared a diplomat of the Consulate General of Russia in Lvov persona non grata.

“Due to activities not complying with the status of a consular officer, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has declared the diplomat persona non grata, and the officer has already left the territory of Ukraine,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.

Ukraine’s Special Service claims that the Russian diplomat had gathered intelligence data regarding public and political figures, the subdivisions of Ukraine’s Armed Forces, special and law-enforcement authorities and foreign military instructors in Ukraine’s western regions.
