Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan convened today a consultation over child adoption.

The current problems with adoption of child citizens of the Republic of Armenia by citizens of the Republic of Armenia and by foreigners or citizens of the Republic of Armenia residing abroad and the risks in the existing procedures, identified in relevant studies, were presented during the consultation. Issues related to the legislative regulations for adoption and the aspects of adoption (procedure, registration, law-enforcement, healthcare) were discussed.

The Prime Minister assigned the interested government agencies to jointly consider and develop a draft decision on setting up an inter-agency task force that will conduct an analysis and submit recommendations on the legislative regulations.
