Iran’s special forces in a successful special operation eliminated the largest international drug smuggling, IRNA reported referring to the Iranian prosecutor’s office Hormozgan.

During a successful special operation, Iranian special forces eliminated international drug smuggling in southern Iran, and 13 members of the smuggling were arrested.

According to the Chief Prosecutor of Hormozgan, Ali Salehi, about two hundred tons of drugs were smuggled through Pakistan to Sistan and Balochistan each year.

Smugglers brought parties to the country across the sea.

Iran is at the forefront of the fight against drug smuggling. Thanks to the efforts of the Iranian police, traffic is suppressed every year and more than 80% of the global opium turnover, 40% of heroin and morphine are confiscated.
