YEREVAN. – We have made a revolution so that we have justice. Seyran Saroyan, retired general and former deputy of Armenia, stated this at a press conference on Tuesday.

Asked whether he, too, had participated in the revolution, Saroyan replied: “And where was I [at the time]?”

The ex-MP stressed that he had favored that third President and subsequent Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan remain in power, but the people had wanted something else.

“The people said [to us, the preceding authorities], ‘Get up, go!’’’ Saroyan added. “What should I have said [to them]? Should I have said, ‘No, this is my grandpa’s seat, I’m not giving [it up]?’”

And asked whether he is happy with the new authorities, Seyran Saroyan gave a positive response.

“It’s normal,” he said. “What’s the problem? It’s been [solely] a year yet.”
