Armenia’s Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan received Director of the Middle East and Central Asia Department at the International Monetary Fund Jihad Azour. The meeting was also attended by Minister of Finance Atom Janjughazyan, Vice-Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia Nerses Yeritsyan and IMF Resident Representative in Armenia Yulia Ustyugova.

Greeting the guests, Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan highly appreciated the level of cooperation with the IMF and assured that the Memorandum of Economic and Fiscal Policies is in the focus of the government and that the reached agreements are being implemented in accordance with the timetable.

Jihad Azour expressed gratitude for the reception and informed that the IMF is willing to assist Armenia in the implementation of reforms, taking into consideration the knowledge and experience of the Fund.

Grigoryan and Azour discussed three major directions for reforms, including reforms in tax administration, anti-corruption and development of the public-private partnership. They also exchanged views on the importance of the development of long-term strategies and the implementation of regional programs.
