Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Tofig Zulfugarov has announced about the need to refuse the next meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Azerbaijan.

“Baku has to clearly state that there is no opportunity left for meetings between Azerbaijan and Armenia after the recent statements by the Armenian side,” the former minister told Minval.az.

According to him, Baku shouldn’t agree to meet so long as there is no official statement on disagreement with the statements that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made in Stepanakert.

“What will Azerbaijan get out of the expected meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Armenia? It will only hurt Azerbaijan. We de facto agree with the agenda and say we are ready to discuss everything, including the Armenians’ idea of the proclaimed “unification”. We also participate in imitation negotiations. After all, we need to clarify the fact that the “Lavrov” tactic for restoration of imitation negotiations is not in Azerbaijan’s favor, and let Yerevan be the first venue where the Russian and Armenian authorities intend to discuss all these issues,” the former minister stressed.
