By becoming a member of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), Armenia has ensured that, until the beginning of 2020, auto importers could import cars they purchased from third countries not according to the customs tariffs of the EEU, but according to the national legislation of Armenia, with a lower rate for the duty, said Armenian Deputy FM Shavarsh Kocharyan on Tuesday.

His remarks came at the meeting of the Permanent Parliamentary Committee on Regional and Eurasian Integration.

According to him, in order to receive a new similar preference, the consent of all five EEU member states will be required. The deputy minister did not explain whether appropriate steps are being taken to implement such an initiative.
