Armenia may block the status of CSTO observer or partner for any unfriendly state, said Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Shavarsh Kocharyan on Thursday.

According to him, there was a point indicating that the CSTO could have an observer, but it was not disclosed, while now there is a proposal that there should also be a partner.

“There is a difference between them,” he said adding that the partner is a state that is interested in deepening relations with the CSTO and shares its ideology.

According to Deputy FM, it is important for Armenia to have a clause stating that countries with such a status would not take any action against a member of the Organization.

“No state can obtain observer or partner status without the consent of all CSTO member states,” the deputy minister concluded.
