A free trade area agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and Singapore is planned to be signed on October 1 at the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, Russia’s Deputy Minister of Economic Development Timur Maximov told RT television.

“We have completed the entire negotiation process on a free trade area agreement.  A meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council is scheduled for October 1, where this document is supposed to be signed,” said Maximov.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that the agreement could be signed on October 1 in Yerevan.

As Maksimov noted, in parallel with Singapore, work is underway on a similar agreement in the field of services and investments.

“I think that by the end of 2019, negotiations will be over. So, already in 2020 it will be possible to sign and ratify the entire agreement on the free movement of goods, services and investments,” he added.
