An earthquake of magnitude 5.0 hit Monday afternoon northern India, ANI agency reported.

According to the data, tremors were recorded at 12.10 pm local time in several areas at once on the border of the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir and the state of Himachal Pradesh.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department of India informs that the earthquake in this area had a magnitude of 3.2.
