Amulsar’s problem should not have been delayed; it had to be solved a long time ago, head of Bright Armenia party faction, Edmon Marukyan told reporters on Monday.

The MP again highlighted the inappropriateness of spending $ 400 thousand to conduct an examination, since its basis - environmental impact assessment was carried out under the previous authorities, and former employees still occupy key positions.

“We said in Jermuk that we are against the operation of the mine under such conditions because we will lose Jermuk,” he said. “We also said that this mine cannot be compared with other mines - there the city was created near the mine, and here there is a city, and the mine will jeopardize the city.”

The deputy recalled that Prime Minister Pashinyan argued that it was necessary to reduce the share of mining in GDP, but now the opposite process is ongoing.

“I understand that the problem is hereditary, but in any case, it is a promise, and we must be consistent,” said Marukyan.
