Within the framework of his working visit to Russia, Zareh Sinanyan, the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of Armenia, met with several Armenian students of Russian universities, at the Armenian Museum of Moscow and Culture of Nations.

In particular, the High Commissioner noted the need for Diaspora Armenian youth to be involved in the activities of his office.

Also, Sinanyan informed about the current mapping of the Armenian diaspora, and many in attendance expressed readiness to assist in the collection of relevant data.

In addition, a reference was made to the existing legislative obstacles before the Diaspora Armenians’ engagement in the state system of Armenia.

The High Commissioner noted that the work has begun with respect to the development of Armenia’s bill on repatriation, and that the country should become ready for repatriation.

“The [Armenian] state should enable its compatriots to live, establish, work in Armenia, to invest [their] potential in the homeland,” Zareh Sinanyan added.
