Next year, Belarus will head the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Council of the Heads of Statistical Services; this decision was approved in Bishkek, the capital city of Kyrgyzstan, at the 60th meeting of this council, BelTA reported.

Also at the Bishkek meeting, the CIS Interstate Statistical Committee informed about the preparations for the 2020 census. This year, census will be conducted in Azerbaijan and Belarus, next year—in Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Armenia, Tajikistan and Ukraine, in 2022—in Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, and in 2023—in Moldova.

During the consultation, the partners also exchanged knowhow in preparing agricultural statistics, and on several other topics of mutual interest.
