Head of the Department of Investigation of Corruption-Related Crimes, Crimes against Property and Cybercrimes of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, head of the group investigating the case of exploitation of the Amulsar gold mine Yura Ivanyan is no longer investigating the case. This is what Head of the Information and Public Relations Unit of the Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia Naira Harutyunyan said in response to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Upon the decision of the chairman of the Investigative Committee, newly appointed deputy head of the Investigative Committee, former head of the 6th Department of the Police of Armenia Arsen Ayvazyan has been appointed head of the group investigating the case of Amulsar and has already accepted the case for proceedings.

On August 29, Infocom released the results of an investigation showing that Yura Ivanyan is a relative of former Minister of Nature Protection Aramayis Grigoryan, who approved the positive conclusion for exploitation of the Amulsar gold mine back in 2016. After that, the Investigative Committee designated an official examination to verify the information about Yura Ivanyan not being impartial.
