If a person is in Russia, this does not mean that he received political asylum there, Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin told reporters referring to issue of Migran Poghosyan, who is believed to receive political asylum.

“I do not have such information. As for Poghosyan, then, according to my information, it deals with the legal procedure for providing the necessary documents,” he said.

To the question of whether this can be considered as a message to the new authorities of Armenia, the ambassador noted: “I do not see any message here.”

Earlier, Prosecutor’s Office of Armenia disseminated information that according to the information received from the Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia, the satisfaction of the request to extradite Mihran Poghosyan with the aim of criminalizing him was not assessed as possible.
