Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said the world was breathing a sigh of relief after the departure of US President’s National Security Advisor John Bolton.

Earlier, American leader Donald Trump said that he asked Bolton to resign because of existing disagreements with him. He said he plans to announce next week who will replace Bolton in this post. Bolton, in his turn, said that he himself offered Trump his resignation.

“As the world ... was breathing a sigh of relief over ouster of #B_Team’s henchman in the White House, (Washington) declared further escalation of #EconomicTerrorism (sanctions) against Iran,” Zarif tweeted. “Thirst for war —maximum pressure— should go with the warmonger-in-chief (Bolton).”

Bolton's resignation occurred amid repeated US statements about a possible meeting between US and Iranian Presidents Donald Trump and Hassan Rouhani, as Pompeo said after the resignation of Bolton that the meeting of Trump and Rouhani on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly is possible.
