Deputy Ministers of Economy of Armenia Tigran Gabrielyan and Arman Hovnanyan on Thursday received representatives of Holland Trade Support and VDL Agrotech. The aim of the meeting was to consider the opportunity of the Armenian-Dutch poultry breeding program. President of the Union of Poultry Breeders of Armenia Sergey Stepanyan and key investor Razmik Blikyan were attending the meeting.

The main goals of the predetermined program are to increase the annual amounts of broilers and ensure high level of biological safety complying with international standards through modern technologies.

The first stage envisages the creation of a genetics center and incubator station. Presenting the course of implementation of the program and the expected outcomes, the Dutch businessmen emphasized that the program will essentially contribute to the increase of competitiveness of local products and the replacement of import of poultry with local products.

The program will also include courses and consulting.

The deputy ministers expressed willingness to support successful implementation of the program.
